Mixing and Mastering

Mixing and mastering classical, choro, or jazz music albums is all about critical listening and knowledge of the repertoire. Our goal is to enhance the tonal and spatial qualities of your recording while preserving its natural dynamics.

During the mixing or mastering session, we control annoying frequencies, improve tonal balance, manage bass, correct muffled frequencies, remove noise using Izotope RX, and master the levels for commercial distribution, preserving dynamics.

Our mastering room is ideal for revealing any issues your recordings may have. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments in an informed manner. We use the Neumann KH310 as the main reference in all our rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the recording studio charge per hour?

The hourly rate at a recording studio can vary considerably depending on several factors, including the studio’s location, the type of recording studio equipment available, and the services offered. On average, a local recording studio may charge an affordable price suitable for independent music recording or EP production. However, for projects requiring more advanced music production, such as professional recording with specialized sound engineering, high-quality mixing and mastering, or music album production, costs may be higher.

Additionally, renting a recording studio that offers cutting-edge audio recording technology, including advanced music recording software, can influence the price. Studios specializing in music studio services, such as band recording, vocal recording services, or audio mixing, may have specific packages to meet the needs of each project.

For those seeking a digital recording studio with modern equipment, such as specialized recording studio equipment for music mastering or audio editing, it is important to consider that these additional services may impact the total cost. Contact for a more accurate quote, especially if your project involves single recording or other specific needs.

What does a recording studio do?

A recording studio is a specialized space where several important steps in music creation and production take place. The main function of a recording studio is to provide an acoustically treated environment equipped with high-quality audio recording technology for music recording, audio recording, and music album production.

Within a recording studio, professionals such as sound engineers and music producers work together with artists and bands to capture the essence of their musical performances. This may include services such as vocal recording, band recording, and independent music recording. Additionally, a modern digital recording studio also offers mixing and mastering services, which are crucial steps to ensure that the final recording sounds polished and ready for release to the public.

Recording studios are often equipped with a variety of recording studio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, studio monitors, and music recording software. These equipment allow for high-quality sound capture and give sound engineers the flexibility needed to edit, mix, and refine the recordings.

Furthermore, many studios offer additional services such as EP production, single recording, and even assistance in independent music production. With the evolution of audio recording technology, affordable recording studios are also becoming more available, offering high-quality services at a lower cost, making them ideal for emerging artists and independent projects.

Therefore, a recording studio is more than just a place to record music; it is a center of creativity and innovation where the art of music is shaped, refined, and finally brought to life.

How to set up a home studio (Home Studio)?

Setting up a home recording studio, or Home Studio, is an exciting process that allows for music recording and music production in the comfort of your own home. Here are some essential steps to create an efficient Home Studio:

  1. Choose an Adequate Space: The first step is to select a quiet space in your home that is isolated from external noise. A small room or unused corner can be transformed into an ideal local recording studio.
  2. Acoustic Treatment: To ensure the best audio recording quality, it is crucial to acoustically treat the space. This may involve installing acoustic panels, foams, and bass traps to minimize unwanted reflections and reverberations.
  3. Basic Recording Studio Equipment: Start with essential equipment such as a good quality microphone, headphones, and an audio interface. These are crucial for any independent music recording or professional recording.
  4. Music Recording Software: Choose a recording software (DAW – Digital Audio Workstation) that suits your needs. There are free and paid options that offer a variety of tools for recording, audio mixing, and music mastering.
  5. Reference Monitors: Although not strictly necessary for beginners, studio monitors can significantly improve the mixing and mastering process by offering more accurate sound.
  6. Instruments and Accessories: Depending on your needs, you may need musical instruments such as MIDI keyboards, guitars, or controllers. Don’t forget about cables and microphone stands.
  7. Learn and Practice: Familiarize yourself with the technical aspects of sound engineering, mixing, and mastering. There are many online resources, including video tutorials and courses that can help.
  8. Upgrade as Needed: As your skills and needs evolve, you can gradually upgrade your Home Studio with more advanced equipment, such as higher quality microphones, preamplifiers, and additional audio recording technology.

Setting up a Home Studio is a continuous process of learning and adaptation. With the right equipment and a passion for music, you can produce high-quality recordings, from recording singles to producing a full EP, all from the comfort of your home.
